March is the international month for Colorectal cancer awareness. The Dutch  MLDS (Maag Lever Darm Stichting) commissioned five photographers; Ringel Goslinga, Geert van Kesteren, Dana Lixenberg en Bertien van Manen and me to portray this theme  for their campaign. The result can be seen in travelling photo exhibition ‘Denk Vooruit, Kijk Achterom’. This exhibition is curated by Ben Krewinkel. For this campaign I photographed the life of ‘Ellen’, a women suffering from bowel cancer. Who despite her treatment, tries to live her life as normal as possible.
